Max Mara Timeless
The love for tailoring and dedication to clothing are an attitude with deep roots. Marina Rinaldi, the founder's great-grandmother, owned and managed an important atelier in the center of Reggio Emilia in 1850: an artisanal activity, which stood out for its attention to detail and finishes. An almost visceral passion, later handed down to her niece, Giulia Fontanesi Maramotti, who in 1925 began teaching sewing and pattern making on her own, publishing a series of volumes dedicated to the "theory of cutting". It is in this context that the Cavaliere Achille Maramotti founded the first company of the Max Mara Group in 1951 , today one of the most important international fashion houses and recognized throughout the world as the precursor of modern ready-to-wear : “haute de gamme” women's clothing produced according to excellent industrial processes.
